The Technology-enhanced Learning Center (TLC) gives both students and faculty a place to further their academic pursuits.
In order for students to receive the best education possible, it is necessary to provide the best educational tools. For the University of West Georgia, the creation of the Technology-enhanced Learning Center (TLC) has given both students and faculty a place to further their academic pursuits.
Designed as a complex, this facility consists of three buildings connected by a glass atrium where students can both study and socialize. Within the building, there are three lecture halls that hold anywhere from 150 to 300 people. There are also studio laboratories for chemistry, computing and engineering students.
The TLC also has computer classrooms that can accommodate English, history or other disciplines. Each classroom is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including projectors and computers for each student in the class.
Along with the pioneering technology provided, there are computer network connections available for Internet access from virtually anywhere in the TLC, including stairwells and student rest areas.
This facility also houses office space for the Office of the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and the departments of Chemistry, Computer Science, English and History. The Writing Center, developed through the Department of English, is also located in the Parkman Room of this building.
Serving multiple purposes, the TLC has become an integral part of the UWG campus, for both students and faculty alike. For more information about this facility, call 678-839-6405.
