The impact of Thomas B. Murphy, the former speaker of the Georgia House of Representatives, can be felt throughout the state. Now visitors to the University of West Georgia can see a recreation of Murphy’s office, replete with the items his constituents gave him in his 29 years of public service.

Debate Team Wraps Up Successful Season (4/18/2012)

University of West Georgia debaters had a strong 2011-2012 season, concluded by attending two national championship tournaments held the last two weekends of March. The teams of Osayame Gaius, a sophomore from North Miami Beach by way of Nigeria, and Vanova Robles, a sophomore from Ft. Lauderdale High by way of Venezuela, and Damiyr Davis and Miguel Feliciano, both first-year students from the Beacon School in New York City, capped a successful season with tremendous performances at nationals.

UWG Students Accepted Into Law School (4/5/2012)

The University of West Georgia is pleased to announce that, with the final numbers just in, 2011 proved a record-shattering year for UWG students applying to law school. Thirty-two different UWG students/graduates were accepted into at least one law school, with seventy-one law schools accepting at least one UWG applicant. This included such top schools as Georgia, Alabama, Iowa, George Mason, Wake Forest, and Washington & Lee.
