Deal Launches Design Contest for New Car Tags (5/24/2011)

Planned Facility for UWG School of Nursing Gains Access to Funding (5/19/2011)

Moving to address a critical need in the state’s health care industry, Georgia lawmakers and Gov. Nathan Deal have approved a $16.5 million bond offering that will fund a new building for the School of Nursing at the University of West Georgia.

The Graduate School will close on June 30, shifting its administrative duties to UWG's colleges. The colleges that have graduate programs will handle applications, admissions, and other administrative functions related to graduate study, with support from the Office of Enrollment Management.

Huckaby Named Chancellor-Designate of the University System of Georgia (5/9/2011)

Henry “Hank” M. Huckaby has been named the chancellor-designate of the University System of Georgia by the Board of Regents. Huckaby, 69, will take up his duties as the System's 12th chancellor on July 1, following the June 30 retirement of current Chancellor Erroll B. Davis Jr.

Roush Scholarship to Support UWG Art Department (5/9/2011)

The University of West Georgia announces the formation of the Susan and Alex Roush Scholarship, an endowment to support students majoring in art. The scholarship will be awarded by a committee within the Department of Art. Alex Roush, of the UWG Foundation Board of Trustees, said he and his wife are excited to support the work of art students.
