West Georgia to Hold Commencement Saturday (7/29/2008)

The University of West Georgia summer commencement will be held in the Campus Center Gymnasium at 9 a.m., noon and 3 p.m. Undergraduates from the College of Arts and Sciences will be awarded degrees at the 9 a.m. ceremony. The noon ceremony will feature undergraduates receiving their degrees from the Richards College of Business. At 3 p.m., students earning their degrees from the College of Education and the Graduate School will receive their diploma.

Senior's Art Featured in Gallery (7/7/2008)

Rockmart resident and UWG senior Buffy Head will graduate this summer with a degree in art education. She opened her Senior Show this week in the second floor gallery of the Humanities Building. A reception is scheduled on Thursday, July 10, from 5 to 7 p.m. and the community is invited to attend.

West Georgia Celebrates Independence Day (7/3/2008)

The People’s Parade will begin its march at 10 a.m. on South Park Street and make its way through Adamson Square. The celebration continues that evening on the grounds of the Carrollton Elementary School with the Carrollton Symphony Orchestra performing the “Sounds of Liberty,” a free concert of patriotic music beginning at 8:30 a.m. Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:40 p.m. Concession stands sponsored by the Kiwanis Club will provide refreshments.
