UWG Chosen to Represent USA During College Radio Day Marathon (9/30/2013)

The WOLF Internet Radio at the University of West Georgia has been chosen to represent the United States during the College Radio Day 24-hour marathon, a traditional event of World College Radio Day. UWG is the only college in the U.S. to broadcast live on 700 stations in 43 countries on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at 7 p.m.

Eclectic Live to Showcase the Talent and Artwork of UWG Students (9/26/2013)

The University of West Georgia College of Arts and Humanities School of the Arts presents Eclectic Live, an on-stage version of the award winning art and literary magazine entirely produced by UWG students. This free and public event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 28, at 7 p.m. at The AMP at Adamson Square in downtown Carrollton.

Holocaust Survivor to Speak at UWG (9/18/2013)

The University of West Georgia welcomes Holocaust survivor Eva Kor for a speaking event on Friday, Sept. 20, at 6 p.m. in the Townsend Center. Kor, a survivor of Mengele’s twin experiments during the Holocaust, will be speaking on “The Triumph of the Human Spirit: from Auschwitz to Forgiveness.” This free event is open to the public and sponsored by the School of Nursing, Pi Nu Honor Society and the College of Arts and Humanities.

The University of West Georgia Bookstore is hosting more than 20 local and regional authors for the inaugural “UWG Bookfest” book festival on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. This catered event is free and open to the public.

Groundbreaking Ceremony Initiates Construction at UWG-Newnan (9/12/2013)

Government officials, representatives from UWG and Newnan Hospital and community members joined together on Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, to celebrate a “brickbreaking,” rather than a “groundbreaking,” to officially begin the renovations and construction to transform Newnan Hospital into the new UWG Newnan Center.

US News & World Report Lists UWG Higher in Newest Rankings (9/11/2013)

US News & World Report announced new rankings this week, with the University of West Georgia moving up on the list. UWG is ranked 45 in the Public South Regional University category, up one spot from 46 last year, and 89 in the overall South Regional University category, up from last year’s ranking of 91. UWG’s overall score also increased by two points.

Professor Wins Top USG Award for Online Teaching (9/6/2013)

A UWG faculty member has been awarded one of the most prestigious teaching awards in Georgia. Kim Huett, an instructor in the Department of Educational Technology and Foundations, is the recipient of the 2014 Georgia Board of Regents’ Teaching Excellence Award. Huett is the first educator to ever receive the award in the “Online Teaching” category.
