Location 
UWG's 645-acre campus is located in Carrollton, a town of over 23,000 residents located 45 miles west of Atlanta, Georgia. Classes also are offered at the Newnan Center located in Newnan, GA.  View our searchable campus map.

Students
About 1,617 graduate and 10,029 undergraduate students from 44 states and 69 nations attend classes on the UWG campus. Sixty-two percent are female and 38 percent are male. Almost 94 percent are Georgia residents. 

The top five countries our students come from are Nigeria, China, Canada, Germany, and the Republic of Korea. The top five out-of-state students come from Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, New York, and California.

Faculty 
UWG has 602 faculty members, 59 percent of whom hold a Ph.D or other terminal degrees in their fields. The student-to-faculty ratio is 19 to 1; an average undergraduate class has 29 students and the overall class size, including lower, upper, and graduate levels, is 28.

Student Life

Athletics  
UWG is an NCAA Division II school with membership in the Gulf South Conference, the largest Division II conference in the nation; the university currently offers 12 varsity sports: baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, football, men's and women's golf, women's soccer, women's softball, women's tennis and women’s volleyball. Known as the Wolves, UWG proudly boasts athletic facilities of any Division II program in the nation.

Housing and Residence Life  
UWG's 10 residence halls are conveniently located to classroom buildings and recreational facilities. Every room is air-conditioned and equipped with two beds, two dressers, two desks and two closets. Each room offers a fiber-optic Internet link, basic cable TV hookup, and local telephone service. Also available are suites, ADA compliant housing, apartments, and the Greek Village with chapter houses accommodating 18 sororities and fraternities. More about residential life…

Accreditations  
The University of West Georgia is fully accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award Bachelor's, Master's, Education Specialist's, and Doctoral degrees. UWG's academic programs are accredited by a variety of accrediting/professional agencies. The various accreditations provide the public, including prospective students, an assurance that respective programs have met the agencies' stated requirements and criteria for continuous improvements.
