Microsoft Office 2007 Implementation
UWG will begin migrating to Microsoft Office 2007 across campus beginning in the fall of 2008. The migration process began in February 2008 with the selection of Project Leaders and a Project Team to develop the implementation process. This group of individuals will carry out the comprehensive process to map out the migration to Office 2007 in a manner that ensures the success of the project and minimal disruption to normal University operations.
Current Status
Current Project Phase: Phase IV
Project Status: On Target
Additional Information:
We are nearing the completion of the deployment of Office 2007 to the academic computers across campus. Faculty/Staff computers in the Colleges of Education and Arts and Sciences that met the minimum standard for Office 2007 have been completed. Approximately half of the eligible RCOB faculty/staff computers have been upgraded with the remainder to be completed over the next five to ten days based on system availability. All academic computer labs have been upgraded to Office 2007 as well as the classroom computers in Arts and Sciences and Education and soon in the RCOB.
Computer systems that were passed over during the upgrade due to not meeting minimum standards will be evaluated this fall and recommendations made on methods to proceed with the upgrade.
