Responsible Use of Internet Resources at UWG
The Bandwidth that is available to UWG for Internet and other network usage is shared by the entire campus. ResNet, Distance Learning, Library resources, and e-mail usage all effect the total bandwidth that is available to users on this campus. In an effort to make all resources available and functional to all students, faculty, and staff, we are asking you, the students of UWG, to use internet resources thoughtfully and responsibly. Specifically we ask that you limit certain activities during peak hours of the day. Peak hours tend to be the afternoon hours from Noon until 4 pm. During peak hours please do not engage in the following activities:
- Streaming or broadcast videos and audioes over the Internet (including radio stations and MP3 or Napster sites).
- Screen savers that contain information that is automatically updated every few minutes from off campus sites.
- E-mails to off campus users that contain large attachments.
