Common User Questions
All of the below can be solved by contacting the Service Desk:
Tel: 678.839.6587
servicedesk@westga.edu

Question: I dont see any Tabs when I login to myUWG
This is an un-common but observed behavior when a user's Role gets erased. Since you have no Role, myUWG doesnt which default Tabs to display. The Service Desk can reset your Role; typical Roles are Student, Faculty or Employee - or a combination.

Question: I cannot access the Library or Galileo
The Service Desk can reset your Library and Galileo access. This is a common but not frequent occurance from anomolies in the system. It is not anything done by the user.

Question : Is my email over-quota ?
The Service Desk can check and reset your email quota. Each student is allowed 10 MBs of email storage, after that the sender will be notified your mailbox is over quota and emails will not be delivered until it is cleared. This includes any folders you have. Students are encouraged to only keep those emails they need for records-keeping.

Question: I cannot read my email or see my INBOX
The Service Desk and ITS staff can attempt to clear this problem. Often it happens if you have received an email that has malware or a corrupt binary attachment. They will either need your password or will reset your password as part of the resolution process.
This usually involves creating a new folder and moving INBOX emails to it until a successful login occurs. Then the offending email is identified and moved to a quarantined location.

Help - my email is gone !!!
The Service Desk and ITS staff can restore your email folders with some reservations, depending on the time it got wiped out and the time of the last backup (nightly).

Question: User needs to prove login to myUWG and/or email sent
The Service Desk and ITS staff can identify myUWG login times. They can also attempt to track some emails, but there is not always a guarantee, but will work with you to recover or track emails sent.
