Webmail
Webmail is any web based email client for use with Faculty/Staff and Departmental UWG email accounts. You may use Webmail exclusively for managing your UWG email or just when you're away from your office.
FYI - The addressbook from horde will not show up automatically in netwin webmail.
Common Questions:
Why can't Webmail open the same mail I have in my Microsoft Outlook?
The mail you view within Webmail is stored on the UWG mail server. Email clients such as Microsoft Outlook, Netscape Mail or Eudora, usually download your mail from the mail server directly to your pc. Webmail cannot access the mail on your pc.
Which is better, Webmail or an email client such as Microsoft Outlook?
It depends on your needs. Webmail provides easy access to your mail from any computer with an internet connection and an up-to-date web browser, but it does not offer many of the helpful functions that are available in Microsoft Outlook or other email clients. Email clients such as Microsoft Outlook offer full-featured email management including mail filters, reminders, highly customizable address books and more.
Why is my addressbook in Webmail different from my addressbook in Microsoft Outlook?
Your Webmail addressbook resides on the server. Your addressbook in Microsoft Outlook or similar email clients actually exists on your pc. The two addressbooks are two different files.
