IT Training

ITS offers FREE information technology training during Fall and Spring semesters for many common applications on campus. We offer group classes, one-on-one training for select topics, and have online tutorials available. Topics for group classes are chosen through surveys or where we see a need for them. In addition, we participate and believe in Cyber Security Awareness national events. In October and April each year, we offer an array of classes relating to a single topic in an effort to raise awareness about online privacy and the security of data. In January 2012 we are hosting some Webinars offered through Educause, for Data Privacy Awareness month.

TO REGISTER FOR ANY OF THE BELOW LISTED IT TRAINING CLASSES:
Hover over the title of a class and click the Register button OR
Click on a class title. This will take you to the UWG Calendar page where you can click the Register button.
Check your email for approval. If there are no seats remaining in a class, please don't hesitate to contact us (mention the class name please!!!) Given enough interest in a topic, we are happy to add another class at a later date.

To inquire about one-on-one training contact the ITS Service Desk at 678.839.6587 or servicedesk@westga.edu. One-on-one training sessions are by appointment only and are time/ availability permitting. It is possible that we won't have an instructor for a particular subject. However, at UWG we do have access to a wonderful array of tutorials via Atomic Learning. Please contact ittraining@westga.edu from your westga.edu email address for instructions to access.

NOTE: All of our instructors are a part of the Information Technology workforce. Ensuring technology continuity for the UWG campus is our priority. In case of an emergency, classes are subject to cancelation with very little notice to participants, whether for group or one-on-one training sessions.

Classes are announced via UWG Daily Report, UWG Calendar on the home page, the IT Training site and email. If you feel like these announcements are not accessible to you, please contact us.  Suggestions for how we can improve our service and for new class ideas are most welcome!! We will try our best to accommodate a request, however due to time and budget constraints  we may not be able to. Be assured that we take ALL of your suggestions into consideration!

Continuing Education credits will be provided UPON REQUEST to anybody who participates in one of our IT Training classes. Course Certificates will be provided via email (only) UPON REQUEST.
