IT Training

ITS offers FREE information technology training for many common applications on campus, such as: RedDot Web Content Management; Dreamweaver; Microsoft Office 2007; and Networking to name a few.  We offer group classes, one-on-one training for select topics, and have online tutorials available.  To sign-up for one-on-one training contact the ITS Service Desk at 678.839.6587 or servicedesk@westga.edu.

Classes are announced via the UWG Daily Report, the Faculty Training/Workshop Calendar, and by email to Colleges and Facilities Department for local posting.  If you feel like these announcements are not accessible to you and you have suggestions on how we can improve this service, please contact Brenda Valcke.

Reddot (Intermediate)

Description: If your department or organization is already using RedDot for website management and you would like more advanced training in how to use tables and different content classes, this course is for you!  We are offering two RedDot intermediate level training classes on Friday 11/13 from 9am-11am and 2pm-4pm. Participants should already have a basic understanding of working with RedDot and publishing to the live web.
 
CanIT – UWG’s Spam filter: Learn how to use it efficiently!

Description: CanIt is the anti-spam, anti-virus email gateway for UWG email accounts. This class is an introduction to the CanIt system, and covers login and access to preferences, control of trapped email, and how to work with blacklists and whitelists without accidentally blocking Grandma.

Description: Zotero is an ‘open source’ research tool produced by the Center for History and New Media at George Mason University that allows you to collect manage and cite sources very efficiently. This is a combination presentation/ workshop about the software that will give you the tools to get started.
