UWG Brass Ensemble

photoOn Monday evening, November 23rd, the University of West Georgia Brass Ensemble will be presenting its fall concert in the Richard Dangle Theater in the Townsend Center for the Performing Arts.  The ensemble, comprised of instruments belonging to the brass family (trumpets, horns, trombones, euphoniums, and tubas), is 18 members strong and will perform a variety of music that spans hundreds of years of history and virtually every stylistic period.  From the antiphonal Renaissance music of Gabrieli to Hoagy Carmichael’s classic “Stardust,” the UWG Brass Ensemble will take you on a musical journey throughout the modern times as seen through brass-colored sunglasses.  Please come out and be a part of our performance!  The UWG Brass Ensemble is conducted by Cale Self, Assistant Director of Bands and Professor of Low Brass at the University of West Georgia.
