Commuter Orientation

This Orientation is for new freshmen students who will be commuting to campus starting in the Fall semester.  During the two-day program you have the opportunity to meet faculty, staff, other incoming students, and will learn about university resources and involvement opportunities. You will also meet with your academic college.

 Note: Registration for each session closes 5 day prior to the Orientation date or if the program reaches capacity, whichever comes first.

Orientation Fee

The fee for freshman Fall Orientation is $95. Eighty-five dollars of the fee covers Phase I of Orientation, a two-day program that you will attend in June. The remaining $10 pays for Phase II of Orientation, called Transitions, which will be held the day before Fall classes begin.

Your registration is not complete until you have paid. You will pay your orientation fee when you register online for Orientation.  You can pay using credit card or electronic check.

PLEASE NOTE: all fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable.

Family and Parent Orientation

Guests may attend orientation for an additional $45 per guest. Due to space limitations, you are permitted to bring up to 2 guests to the program.  This includes all children, as well.  Overnight accommodations are not provided to families and/or guests that attend the Freshman Commuter Orientation.  CLICK HERE for additional information for guest attending the program.  

Commuter Orientation Schedule of Events

Check-in on day one will begin at 12:00PM and last until 1:00PM. We recommend that you arrive no later than 12:45PM. Dinner will be provided on day one and will end at 7:30PM.  Day two of Orientation will begin at 7:45AM and last until approximately 4:00PM. Breakfast and lunch will be provided on day two.   

Registering for Orientation

When you register for orientation you will be required to answer a series of questions. Based on these answers and what you choose for your first year program an advisor will create your Fall schedule, which you will receive at Orientation. You must register through the MyUWG portal.
