Orientation for new students starting in Summer 2010 will be June 4th, tentatively.
Orientation marks the beginning of the semester for new students. It is designed to help you settle into university life and provide you with information to fully prepare you for the start of your classes. During Orientation student leaders and University staff will guide you through registration process and familiarize you with different services available to you at the UWG. The Summer 2010 program will begin early in the morning (check in begins at 8am), and will last until the late afternoon. During Orientation, lunch will be provided in the main dining hall on campus, Z-6. You should expect to be at the program until late afternoon.
The fee for the program is $25.00. This fee covers all costs & materials associated with the program, and includes a meal at Z6 Dining Hall.
Due to space limitations, guests are not allowed at this program.

Transfer or Non-Traditional Students starting in the Summer 2010
Transfer and Non-Traditional Students starting in Summer 2010
Nontraditional students with Learning Support requirements will not be advised by your Academic College, but rather the Learning Support Office during Orientation. Students with learning support requirements are advised through the Learning Support office until they complete those requirements. If you still must take the CPE, please schedule that prior to Orientation registration. If you have questions about Learning Support, or if you need to schedule the CPE, please contact Learning Support & Testing at 678-839-6435 or visit them at http://www.westga.edu/~lst/.
Special Note for transfer students who have attended their prior institution(s) for One or more years as a full-time student:You are not required to attend the June 4th Orientation session. You will be able to set up an appointment with your academic advisor. Click here to see a list of Special Advising Days
Students are encouraged to bring their Transcript(s) from all previous institutions as transcript credit evaluations may not be completed prior to their advising appointment. Without transcripts or a transcript credit evaluation, advisors will not have enough information to help students make a schedule. Also, please check the Transfer Equivalency Guide at: https://grim.westga.edu/pls/UWGP_DAD/hwwktreq.find_state for more information on courses that may transfer. You should also bring a copy of this report from your prior institution to your advising appointment.
Students who have not attended a previous institution for at least one full academic year are not permitted at these Special Advising Days and must register for and attend the June 4, 2010 program. Unfortunately, there will be no exceptions granted.
Once you have made your appointment, write it down on your calendar. You must check in at the Admissions Office in Mandeville Hall located on Front Campus Drive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. Failure to do so could result in your appointment being canceled.
More information regarding transfer appointments will be posted as soon as it is available.
