Undergraduate Research Workshops

In Fall 2012, the OUR and the Ingram Library will sponsor a series of Workshops focused on preparing our Undergraduate Students for vibrant research experiences while at UWG. 

Monday, October 8th: What is Undergraduate Research?

Monday, October 22nd: Introduction to Library Research and Liasions

Monday, November 12th: Citations and Human Subjects Research

January: Presenting with Power- Tips and Tricks to being a Dynamic Presenter

February: How to Transform and Effectively Display your Research- Poster Sessions 

*All Fall 2012 workshops will be at 5:30pm in the Library.

VPAA Student Research Travel Awards 

Each year the Vice President for Academic Affairs offers travel grants for UWG students for the purpose of research—either presenting research and/or creative activities at professional meetings or conducting research specific to future presentations.

In order to be considered for these travel awards, students must submit the following by the established deadlines:               

1. A full abstract which has been accepted for presentation at a professional meeting

2. An application with all required signatures and a completed budget request form (Application Form & Budget Form)

3. A letter from a faculty sponsor detailing the quality of the presentation, the selection process, the specific participation of the student (i.e. reading a paper, presenting a poster session, participating in juried art exhibits, etc.) *The deadline to apply for these travel awards is typically early October for Fall semester travel and early February for Spring semester travel.
