Project Management Standards
The PMO recognizes the principals covered in PMI's Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) as the foundational principles to support project management efforts in the PMO. In addition, the PMO has further defined its own processes, terminologies, and activities which correlate to the PMBOK and best suit the particular needs of ITS and the University. The PMO maintains and updates the standards for project management within ITS with the approval of the ITS Executive Team. Visit our Standards section to read more about our project management standards, processes, etc.
Proper effort in defining and planning a project can be the single most influential predictor for project success. As such, the PMO offers project planning services that assist the project owner in the processes and activities necessary to ensure the foundation for a successful project. To request assistance for planning a project, please email the PMO office.
A primary benefit of project management and its standards is improved project performance and success. The PMO provides IT project assessment services that will assist the project owner in determining the value of project management for a particular project as well as recommendations for consideration in moving a project forward.
