The University is committed to student success through high-quality academic programs, supportive student services, online learning, and community outreach. As an innovative doctoral university, UWG will prepare students to become problem-solving leaders.

The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia seeks a President who has the following characteristics:

The candidate must possess the vision and experience necessary to lead UWG through an increasingly competitive and changing academic, financial, and technological environment. Must have proven successful experience in management and administration of complex higher education organizations; including the ability to empower others through effective communication, collaborative management, shared governance, and prudent financial decision-making. Must demonstrate the ability to fundraise, to build and maintain strong and meaningful community relations, and to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with the state leadership. Must demonstrate the willingness and ability to foster and enhance UWG’s student-centered environment, particularly a liberal arts-based professional preparation designed to promote student success. A terminal professional degree or earned doctorate is strongly preferred.
