Pickup & Delivery
When a job has been completed, the individual who ordered the job will be called or e-mailed at the number listed on the printing request. You may want to list both your private extension and the number of your department secretary so that we may reach you quickly when your printing is ready.
Each academic department and administrative office on campus has an assigned pickup box located in the lobby of Publications and Printing. You may pick up finished print jobs there, or you may select to have your job returned to you by campus mail.* If you use campus mail, please allow an extra day for delivery time. In the case of large printing orders, jobs are often placed either on the floor in front of your pickup box or stored in the receiving area of the building. In such cases, a note will be placed in the customer's box, designating that a job is ready.
When a large printing request cannot be transported easily because of its size (multiple boxes), the Warehouse staff can provide delivery service. Because delivery requests will fall in line with their other duties, it is best to allow an extra day in your planning schedule if you use these services. If you would like to have the completed job delivered to you, ask the staff member who notifies you of your completed print job to arrange delivery for you.
* When using campus mail, remember to allow one full day each way.
Turnaround Time
Turnaround times assume you will keep your proof no more than 24 hours before returning it to Publications and Printing. Keeping proofs longer than 24 hours may add days to your delivery time. The following are the standard turnaround times for duplicating and printing requests:
- Quick-Copy: 24 hours (Allow extra time if the job requires typesetting, hand bindery, folding, etc.)
- Offset printing: 10 working days* for reprints, 15 working days for requests involving typesetting
- Design and Pre-Press: 5 to 10 working days, depending on complexity
* "Working days" are defined as Monday through Friday.
Checking the Status of Your Job
You will be given the date by which your job is expected to be completed at the time you place the order. To check on the status of a job in production, call Office Manager Donna Martin at 678-839-6483 or e-mail her at dmartin@westga.edu. When checking on a job, it is helpful to provide either the job number or the anticipated completion date that was given to you when the job was placed. While we will certainly verify the status of your job for you without this information, either one is a quick reference for locating your job.
