Certification of Enrollment
Official Certifications of Enrollment or "Proof of Enrollment" letters are generated online by currently enrolled students by logging into MyUWG, clicking on the External Resources tab, and choosing the UWG Proof of Enrollment link.
This online process is free and allows students to get up-to-date information on their enrollment status to send to health insurers or other organizations. Enrollment Certifications may be requested for the current semester, for total enrollment history, or for advanced registration.
If you are not a currently enrolled student, enrollment letters may be requested by either submitting a request form to the Enrollment Services Center or ordering online at the National Student Clearinghouse. Processing usually occurs within 3-5 business days.
Loan verifications should be handled through the National Student Clearinghouse by the loan company. The third party company may contact them at http://www.studentclearinghouse.org/ or call 703-742-4200. The University of West Georgia has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to act as our agent for providing enrollment verifications for insurance purposes, student loans, future employment, military IDs, etc. This service is available 24/7/365 to current students and those enrolled in the last six semesters.
Degree Verifications
Degree Verifications certify all earned degree(s) and the date(s) the degree(s) were awarded. The University of West Georgia has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to act as our agent to provide degree verifications to third parties. Third parties must use the Clearinghouse. Enrollment Classifications
Enrollment Status - Fall or Spring Semesters
Undergraduates
- 12 hours or more are considered "full-time"
- 6-11 hours are considered "half-time"
- less than 6 hours are "less than half-time"
Graduates
- 9 hours or more are considered "full-time"
- 5-8 hours are considered "half-time"
- less than 5 hours are "less than half-time"
Enrollment Status - Summer Semester

- 9 hours or more are considered "full-time"
- 5-8 hours are considered "half-time"
- less than 5 hours are less than "half-time"

- 6 hours or more are considered "full-time"
