-works closely with all staff on projects and programs
Assistant Director for Administrative Operations
-located in Mandeville Hall
-responsible for processing housing applications, housing deposits, cancellations, and refunds, makes all room assignments
-coordinates hall opening and closing procedures
-handles general business affairs of the department
Assistant Director for Residence Life
-located in Mandeville Hall
-coordinates all types of programming activities in the residence halls
-supervises Area Coordinators
-coordinates the human resource functions of the department
Area Coordinators
-located in Arbor View Building A/West Campus, the Suites Community Center/Central Campus, and the Greek Village Community Center/East Campus
-supervises Residence Life Coordinators and Resident Directors in the area
-have extensive training and experience in the areas of management, student development, programming, discipline, and supervision
Residence Life Coordinators (RLCs) and Resident Directors (RD)
-office and personal residence located in each residential community
-manages the day-to-day operations of the facility and the community
-supervises the RAs of the designated community
-advises the Hall Council
-meets with students regarding conflicts and discipline violations
-provides referrals for personal and academic support services
Your Resident Assistant (RA) is:
A Listener, Advisor, and Information Source
RAs are trained to be your primary resource for information and assistance with any concern, problem, or need. There will be an RA on duty from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. every night in specified areas. RAs are selected because of their enthusiasm, sensitivity, ability to relate to others, knowledge about the University, and ability to accept responsibility. Get to know your RA! He/she will be your key resource to the services, programs, and policies of West Georgia.
A Programmer
Cultural, social, and intellectual programs in each of the residence halls are essential to the RAs role as an agent for the development of the community. This responsibility is a broad one. The goal is to respond to the needs and interests of all students on the floor and to enrich the learning experience. The RA is available to help you implement your ideas.
A Communicator
RAs are responsible for communication with the RLC and the Housing and Residence Life Office. In addition, they communicate University activities and information to the students on their floors.
