Getting involved in activities- as a planner or participant - is one of the easiest and most enjoyable ways to make the most of your limited years at West Georgia. Making friends, belonging to a group, and developing leadership and interpersonal skills are the rewards of involvement. Several great ways of getting involved are listed here. Check them out! Your Resident Assistant can help you in acquiring additional information about your interests.
Ask your RA about ways you can get involved in planning activities to meet your neighbors and hall staff. RAs want your ideas! Also, watch for coming attractions and announcements of floor meetings and programs on your bulletin boards.
Each residential community at UWG has a hall council with elected officers. The goal of the hall council is to provide social programming, respond to community concerns, and make recommendations to improve the hall. Each hall council also connects through the Residence Hall Association. RHA acts in an advisory capacity for residence life, plans activities campus-wide, raises funds for charitable causes, and travels to regional collegiate leadership conferences. See your Resident Director or RA for more information when you move in about how to get involved or even run for office.
Both individual and team and single-gender and co-ed intramural sports are offered each semester including flag football, softball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, tennis, and more! Look for more information in your hall about teams, or ask your RA to help you start a team!
