Room Assignment Process

Students must be accepted to the University of West Georgia in order to submit a housing contract.

Room assignments are made in accordance with the date in which the contract and deposit ($200 deposit and $50 non refundable application fee) are received in the UWG Housing and Residence Life Office.

Roommate Assignments

When a specific roommate is not requested, roommate assignments will be made using the personal preference information on the housing contract and are made without regard to race, age, creed religion or national origin.

For specific roommate requests to be honored both students must have submitted a housing contract and deposit ($200 deposit and $50 non refundable application fee). The request must be mutual and must include the first and last legal name (no nicknames please) and UWG ID# (beginning with 917) of both parties. When two roommates have different hall preferences, unless either student specifies otherwise, the roommate preference will take priority over the hall preference. Roommate pairs are assigned based on the date that the last roommates contract and deposit ($200 deposit and $50 non refundable application fee) are recieved in the Housing and Residence Life Office. For example, if two (2) students want to live together and one's contract is submitted in November and the other in March, the two roommates will be assigned where space available, based on the availability in March, NOT November.
