Transition Housing & Early Move In Requests

Are you a current resident (living on campus for the Summer 2009 term) interested in staying on campus until you can move into your 2009-2010 assignment? 

Are you an incoming student that wants to arrive early (prior to your scheduled move in day) to campus? 

Please read the information below to learn about our Transition Housing/Early Move In Requests!

If you are interested in one of the options below, please download and complete a or an Early Move In Request Form.   Once submitted to the Residence Life Office, all requests will be reviewed and a decision will be made about the request.   (To find out which option you are eligible for, please see below).

All students will receive an outcome email (via their MyUWG email account) in response to their request.

EARLY MOVE IN REQUESTS

Eligibility:  Students who will be residing on campus for 2009-2010 that do not currently live on campus. 

Fee: Approved requests for early move in will be billed a daily rate ($26).  There are transition period is July 31st- August 10th.  

TRANSITION HOUSING

Eligibility:  Students who are current summer school residents who are living on campus for the 2009-2010 academic year. 

Fee: Once approved, a $150 non-refundable transition fee will be assessed to residents who would need to stay on campus during the transition period between the end of Summer Semester (August 1) and Move In Day 2009.  The transition period is July 31st- August 10th.  

Frequently Asked Questions

If approved, how can I pay for my Transition Housing or Early Move In Fee? 

When approved, it is expected that you submit your payment in advance to the Residence Life Office in Mandeville Hall.  You can pay your fees in the form of: a money order, cashier’s check, personal check or cash (in the exact amount- unfortunately, our office does not have change).  In addition, we cannot accept a debit/credit card. 

Can you post the charges to my student account? 

Unfortunately, those fees have to be paid in advance and we are unable to post these charges to your student account. 

If approved to move in early, will I move into my 2009-2010 assignment?

In all cases, we will attempt to allow you to check into your 2009-2010 housing assignment.  When we review your submission we consider your assignment and in cases where we are unable to moe you into your 2009-2010 housing assignment, we will try our best to provide you with accommodtions, based on the availability of space, if approved.
