A program review occurs when the program is proposed. This review assure the program meets the length requirements. Program length is also checked when any program modifications are made. this is an internal checked completed through the faculty senate Undergraduate Academic Programs Committee and the Committee on Graduate Studies. Program modifications are also checked for length requirements when the program are adjusted through the administrative approval process in the Vice President of Academic Affairs office.

As discussed in Comprehensive Standard 3.4.11, program length is examined in new program development and the program review processes. It is important to note that any changes to program length are determined and reviewed by faculty in the relevant discipline and college as well as by the administrative officers in the Division of Academic Affairs.

In many disciplines, program length is determined by specialized accreditation requirement and standards.
