2. Core requirements

Core Requirement:

2.7.4 The institution provides instruction for all course work required for at least one degree program at each level at which it awards degrees. If the institution does not provide instruction for all such course work and (1) makes arrangements for some instruction to be provided by other accredited institutions or entities through contracts or consortia or (2) uses some other alternative approach to meeting this requirement, the alternative approach must be approved by the Commission on Colleges. In both cases, the institution demonstrates that it controls all aspects of its educational program. (See Commission policy "Core Requirement 2.7.4: Documenting an Alternate Approach.") The University of West Georgia provides instruction for all coursework required for all degree programs at each level at which it awards degrees. The list of undergraduate degree programs and requirements is provided in the Undergraduate Catalog [1]. The list of graduate degree programs and requirements is available in the Graduate Catalog [2], [3], [4], [5], [6][7] and the Graduate Studies website [8]. In addition to the Undergraduate and Graduate Catalogs, UWG provides the course work information at all levels through Banweb [9] The table below provides examples of degrees awarded at the University of West Georgia at each level with links to the specific course requirements for those degrees.

In addition to the course work that students can complete at the Institution, the University of West Georgia has consortial agreements with other institutions for the following programs: WebMBA, Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in European Union Studies, and eCore (Core Curriculum Online). These consortial agreements are discussed in detail in the report for Comprehensive Standard 3.4.7.
