Akilah Heggs, MA., CCC-A

Akilah Heggs, MA, CCC-A, is the Clinical Director for the University of West Georgia Speech-Language Pathology program and lecturer. She provides oversight of the Speech and Hearing Clinic and direct supervision for all audiological services . Ms. Heggs is a certified clinical audiologist with 13 years of experience in audiology and has served as the state coordinator for the Georgia Universal Newborn Hearing Screening and Intervention Program. She is an active member on numerous statewide and local committees including current president of the Georgia Supervisory Network and President-elect for the Georgia Speech Language Hearing Association. Additionally, Ms. Heggs is the co-faculty advisor for the UWG chapter of the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association. Her professional interests include the evaluation and treatment of childhood hearing loss, prevention of noise-induced hearing loss and clinical education.
