Biography

Primary areas of research: race/ethnicity/culture, class and women

Prior to pursuing an academic career: Ten years in the nonprofit sector

In the community: Volunteer with Adult and Community Education Center, transitional homeless center for men, and the area's largest food pantry

Around the nation: Consultant to literacy programs and train teachers to teach English as a Second Language (ESL).

M.A. thesis: Homelessness and the Homeless: A State of the Field
