Julie Lowry holds the Master of Music degree from the University of Alabama and a Bachelor of Music degree from Shorter University. Mrs. Lowry enjoys an active performing career and has appeared as soloist at the Verona International Choral Festival, the Chiesa della Pieta (Vivaldi’s Church) in Venice; with the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra in St. Petersburg, Russia; the Etowah Chamber Orchestra, the Carroll Symphony Orchestra and Collegium Vocale. Her performance repertoire as featured soloist includes: Cio Cio San (Madama Butterfly); Handel’s Messiah; Bach’s Easter Oratorio; Haydn’s Seven Last Words of the Saviour from the Cross; Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy; Liszt’s Via Crucis; Fauré’s Requiem; Rossini’s Petite Messe Solenelle; Vaughan Williams’ Dona Nobis Pacem; Mendelssohn’s Symphony no. 2: Hymn of Praise; and Tippett’s A Child of Our Time.
Mrs. Lowry is also an active teacher. She frequently serves as clinician and adjudicator, also presenting master classes and workshops. She has served as adjunct professor of voice at Shorter College and at the University of West Georgia. She has maintained a private voice studio over a decade and her students have taken top honors in numerous competitions. Several of Mrs. Lowry's students have been accepted into prestigious music schools throughout North America.
