Biography

Dr. Stan Caress, professor of political science, is a core faculty member of the Master of Public Administration Program and is the Director of Murphy Center for Public Service. He has published numerous scholarly articles in such peer reviewed journals as PS: Political Science and Politics, Policy Studies Journal, and the American Journal of Public Health. Dr. Caress won the Georgia Political Science Association’s “Best Research Award” for his work on legislative term limits. He is also the author of a book on Term Limits published by SUNY Press in 2012. He is currently working on another book focusing on presidential impeachment to be published by Stanford University Press. Dr. Caress is the past president of the American Society for Public Administration’s Georgia Chapter and currently serves on its Executive Council. He teaches a wide range of graduate and undergraduate courses in public administration, political science, and environmental policy.
