Dr. Chumney is an Assistant Professor of Educational Research at the University of West Georgia. Prior to joining the University of West Georgia faculty, Dr. Chumney served as a Statistics and Research Methodologist for the Nebraska Center for Research on Children, Youth, Families and Schools, as well as the National Center for Research on Rural Education. Dr. Chumney completed her doctoral studies in Quantitative, Qualitative, and Psychometric Methods at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a focus on quantitative methods and research design, and a minor in Survey Research and Methodology.

Dr. Chumney has taught courses in statistics, research design and methodology, educational psychology, general psychology, developmental psychology, and social and cognitive development. Her research interests include the application of structural equation modeling techniques to small samples, survey research methods, and teacher professional development.
