Mike Johnson joined the University of West Georgia faculty in 2006.  He received his Ph.D. in Sociology from Iowa State University in 2001.  Professor Johnson’s research and writing interests are in juvenile delinquency, victimology, and criminal justice policy and practice.  He has published articles on the subjects of juvenile delinquency, victimization, and corrections in Youth and Society, Journal of Social Psychology, Czech Sociological Review, Southwest Journal of Criminal Justice, International Journal of Criminal Justice Sciences, Justice Policy Journal, and Research and Practice in the Social Sciences as well as a chapter in a book entitled International Perspectives on Crime and Justice.  Professor Johnson’s teaching areas include juvenile delinquency, delinquency prevention and intervention, school violence, victimology, social inequality and crime, family violence, and research methods.
