Assistant Professor Criminology (begins Fall 2010)
The Department of Sociology and Criminology at the University of West Georgia announces the availability of a new tenure-track Assistant Professor of Criminology position beginning fall semester 2010 (www.westga.edu/soccrim). Areas of specialization are open, and candidates with experience or interest in online learning are especially encouraged to apply. This position carries opportunities and expectations for teaching graduate courses at our satellite campus in Newnan, Georgia (30 miles from campus). A Ph.D. in criminology, criminal justice, sociology, or a closely related field is required. Successful candidates must have a strong commitment to teaching and an active research agenda. Located 45 minutes west of Atlanta, the University of West Georgia (www.westga.edu), a charter member of the University System of Georgia, is a comprehensive, doctoral institution of just over 11,000 students located on 625 acres in the city of Carrollton (www.carrollton-ga.gov).
