Welcome to the UWG School of the Arts!

A message from the Director:

This is an exciting time to be at West Georgia! Over the last several years, we have seen our campus grow, our population increase, and our reputation for excellence spread throughout the nation. It has also been a time of tremendous productivity in all areas of the arts on campus and in our community. Students in the College of Arts and Humanities continue to impress adjudicators and judges within our region and across the nation. At UWG, the opportunities for students in the musical, visual, literary and theatrical arts are many and diverse.  It is in the light of this diversity and in the spirit of collaborative excellence that the College of Arts and Humanities’ School of The Arts was founded.  We hope you will take some time to look around this site to see just how much SOTA has to offer!

If you are considering UWG for your continued education in the arts, you're taking a large step in the right direction! The School of The Arts provides our students with one of the most creative and stimulating learning environments in our region.  Our students gain practical experience and research in areas ranging from Lithography to Literature; from Chopin to Chekov.  The School of The Arts supports our nationally accredited departments of Art, Music, and Theatre, as well as the great work produced by our Creative-Writers and the Public History Center, among others. In short, the College of Arts and Humanities' School of The Arts serves as the  center for the development and recruitment of talented students and faculty of all areas within the arts.

Thanks again for your interest in and support of the arts at UWG. We're glad that you're here, and look forward to working with our latest artistic collaboration-you!  Whether you are a potential student, a parent, or a friend of the arts, the artistic experiences offered here are many and diverse!  Please accept our invitation to share in these experiences.

Welcome to The College of Arts and Humanities’ School of The Arts!
