Special Collections Home at The University of West Georgia

Using the Special Collections

To visit our Reading Room, please see the library and campus maps with directions. Our hours are 8:30 a.m. to 12 and 1 to 4:30 p.m. weekdays during regular semesters. When semesters are not in session, Special Collections is open by appointment. Due to university schedules, it is advisable to call ahead if you are coming from any distance to make sure the campus is open.

Several of the collections have access restrictions placed by the donors, which the Special Collections staff must honor. Our materials are cataloged in the Ingram Library online catalog. The finding aids for our collections are available in LibGuides.

Due to the unique nature of the Special Collections, all researchers are asked to complete a registration form that includes name, address, phone number, email address, drivers license number, nature of research, anticipated product of research, and specific materials used.

Not all items from Special Collections can be photocopied or scanned, depending on their physical condition. We will do our best to accommodate the researcher's needs.
