1. Drive less:

  • Combine trips
  • Walk or bike to work
  • Lobby your local government to increase spending on sidewalks and bike lanes

2. Save energy.

  • Adjust your thermostat, lower in winter (68F), higher in summer (78F)
  • Use power strip and turn off when not in use
  • Use fans and open the windows
  • Wash clothes in cold water
  • Don’t use heat to dry dishes

3. Conserve water.

  • Run dishwasher and wash clothes only when full load
  • Take shorter showers
  • Turn water off when brushing your teeth
4. Stop wasting, stop recycling and reusing.
  • Recycle paper, plastic, glass, and metal
  • Reuse and repurpose things to save money and divert waste from your local landfill
  • Bring your own shopping bags, bottles, and mugs

5. Think what you eat.

  • Eat less meat, the lower you eat on the food chain the lower amount of expended energy
  • Support your local farmers market
  • Buy fair trade coffee, tea, and chocolate
