Airfare Information

In order to comply with the travel policies, state employees must endeavor to obtain the lowest possible fare.  Please review Chapter 6 of the Statewide Travel Regulations for travel policies related to commercial air travel, which includes the following provision:

“Employees who require air travel should obtain the lowest available airfare to the specified destination, which may include the use of the Internet or a travel agency."  Additionally, there are temporary discounted government rates (YDGGA/KDGGA) offered to the State by Delta Air Lines.  The Delta (YDGGA/KDGGA) government rates are not mandatory. 

Steps to Obtaining the Best Fares

In accordance with state travel regulations, state employees should research and obtain the best fares as follows:

  1. Compare rates by searching for lower market fares with carriers using any of the following options:
a.  Utilize the Internet.  Please see the following suggestions:
