Meal Reimbursements
The travel regulations allow for the reimbursement of eligible meals based on the per diem rate for the location. However, a department may choose to reimburse the traveler for the actual cost of the meal if it is lower than the per diem rate. If the actual cost of the meal is less than the per diem and a receipt is submitted to document the cost, the lesser amount will be paid.
