Announcements:

• Beginning Friday, July 18, all roadways and surrounding grounds of the Stadium will be closed until Thursday, July 24. During these days blasting of rock will occur. All spectators or non-authorized personnel should stay far away from the blasting perimeter.

• The Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment, formerly known as Institutional Research and Planning, is pleased to present the 2013-2014 Fact Book for the University of West Georgia. The purpose of the publication is to provide consistent information about significant aspects of the University and its operations. The information presented in this Fact Book focuses on the 2013-2014 academic year and other pertinent historical data. The Fact Book can be accessed online.

• Due to moving and construction in the cashiers area, Petty Cash will not be processed July 22-25. Petty Cash activity will resume on July 29. We are sorry for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

• Ingram Library’s Special Collections and the Bowdon Area Historical Society will be hosting a reception for their cooperative exhibit, “Bowdon College: The Athens of the West.” The reception will be held on Thursday, July 24 from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Thomas B. Murphy Reading Room of Ingram Library. The exhibit depicts the important history surrounding Bowdon College, the fifth chartered school in the state of Georgia as well as the first collegiate institution to offer coeducation. Topics showcased in the exhibit include Bowdon College’s founding, student activities, community support, McDaniel’s regiment, and the demise and destruction of the institution. Parking for the reception will be available in the Townsend Center parking lot.
