Jami Bower, Associate Vice President
Jami, a seasoned marketing communications professional, joined UCM in March 2010 and is responsible for planning and implementation of all branding, graphic design, marketing and communications efforts for UWG. Her key responsibilities include developing and promoting a brand identity for the university and raising its profile, as seen through the launch of the Go West campaign. Jami and team are also responsible for the management of UWG’s web presence, campus communications and external public relations activities – supporting University Advancement, Admissions and many other campus-wide needs. Jami is the steward of UWG’s annual marketing budget and the day-to-day supervisor of the nine-member UCM staff.
Prior to her UWG post, Jami was vice president/management supervisor at Grey Atlanta, where she managed a diverse portfolio of regional and national accounts for the Grey Global advertising agency network led by WPP. Her work included planning successful integrated marketing campaigns for Southern Company, Georgia Power, Cousins Properties, Wyndham Worldwide and Gatti’s Pizza.
Prior to Grey, Jami served as management supervisor in Houston, Texas at Houston’s largest full-service advertising agency, Fogarty Klein Monroe, where she led account service initiatives for multiple regional clients including: CenterPoint Energy, Garden Ridge, Kroger and Popeye’s Chicken & Biscuits.
Early in her career, Jami served as vice president/associate media director at Luckie & Company in Birmingham, Ala. and was named one of Newsweek’s “Top 100 U.S. Media Planners.”
Jami holds a degree in journalism from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. Organizations include past memberships in Utility Communicators International and the American Advertising Federation, and she is a supporter of the Atlanta Community Food Bank and Living the Mosaic Foundation for Autism. Jami currently serves on various UWG committees.
