The UWG Social Media Collaborative meets today at 2:30 pm in UCC, Rm 210. We will be discussing ‘How to Humanize’ your social media voice/brand. For more information, please contact Sherri Shelnutt.

The Speech Communication Advisory Committee in the Department of Mass Communications invites the campus and community to a panel discussion on diversity. The panelists, community and campus leaders, will answer questions about the value of diversity in organizations and society. Please join us Wednesday, February 27, at 6:30 pm, in the TLC, Rm 1305. Admission is free and the community and campus are welcome.

Do you know any UWG Young Alumni who are accomplishing great things in their career or community? If so, consider nominating them to our new list of 30 under 30 accomplished young alumni. The recent graduate must have graduated within the past 10 years and be 30 years old or younger as of March 15, 2013, and have made a documentable impact in business, education, leadership, government, research, service, or other area. Submissions must be made by someone other than the nominee. From the nominations, we will select the top 30 young alumni who best fit the program's criteria. Please click here for nominations.

Enrollment at the UWG Pre-Kindergarten for the 2013-2014 school year began on February 1st and ends on March 1st. Enrollment forms and more details can be found on our website. Enrollment forms may be sent via campus mail, faxed to 9-6529, emailed, or dropped by the Pre-K in person. Forms must be submitted to the Pre-K by 3:30 pm on March 1st.

LIVING LEGACY SERIES: PLEASE COME AND MEET THE RECIPIENT OF THE CONGRESSIONAL GOLD MEDAL, MR. JAMES PACK!

The Center for Diversity and Inclusion is pleased to invite students, faculty and staff to its Black History Month Program and FIRST LIVING LEGACY SERIES on Tuesday, February 26, in the Campus Center Ballroom 108.2 at 7 pm. Mr. James Pack, Retired U.S. Marine, Member of the Montford Point Marines will give his personal story while Mr. Fred Codes, President, Montford Point Marine Association, Atlanta Chapter-5 will provide an overview of the Montford Point Marines. Extra credit will be made available. The program is free and open to the public. Dr. Allan M. Winkler will speak tonight at 7 pm at the Ingram Library on "The Lasting Legacy of FDR." Dr. Winkler is Distinguished Professor of History at Miami University in Ohio and has also taught at Yale
University and the University of Oregon as well as the University of Helsinki, the University of Amsterdam, and the University of Nairobi. He is the author of ten books including "Franklin D. Roosevelt and the
Making of Modern America" and "Home Front, U.S.A.: America during World War II." Special public parking will be available in the Townsend Center gated lot, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

This program is presented by Ingram Library’s Penelope Melson Society. This project is supported by the Georgia Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities and through appropriations from the Georgia General Assembly. Funding is provided, as well, by the Carroll EMC Foundation.
