Announcements:
• Advanced Academy student Sarah Saltiel has been selected to receive the Award for Aspirations in Computing by the National Center for Women in Information Technology. The NCWIT's Award for Aspirations in Computing is awarded to young women at the high school level who display leadership ability, academic achievement, and computing and information technology aptitude. Saltiel, who intends to double major in mathematics and engineering psychology, is one of only 25 young women in the state of Georgia to receive this award. Saltiel is a two-time recipient of this award.

• Do you know any UWG Young Alumni who are accomplishing great things in their career or community? If so, consider nominating them to our new list of 30 under 30 accomplished young alumni. The recent graduate must have graduated within the past 10 years and be 30 years old or younger as of March 15, 2013, and have made a documentable impact in business, education, leadership, government, research, service, or other area. Submissions must be made by someone other than the nominee. From the nominations, we will select the top 30 young alumni who best fit the program's criteria. Please click here for nominations.
Events:
• The Center for Student Involvement is happy to announce that UWG’s next concert will be on Friday, April 19, in the Coliseum, featuring Neon Trees, Phillip Phillips, and Twenty-One Pilots. Doors will open at 7 pm and the show will start at 8 pm. Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 1, for UWG Students/Staff/Faculty and are $15 plus tax in advance, and $20 plus tax on the day of the show. Tickets go on sale for the public on Friday, March 8, and are $25 plus tax in advance, and $30 plus tax on the day of the show. Tickets can be purchased online, by phone at 678-839-4722, or at the Townsend Center Box Office from 10 am-4 pm M-F. Any questions contact Emily Teitelbaum or call 678-839-6526.
• The Speech Communication Advisory Committee in the Department of Mass Communications invites the campus and community to a panel discussion on diversity tonight at 6:30 pm. The panelists, community and campus leaders, will answer questions about the value of diversity in organizations and society. The discussion will be held in the Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) Room 1305. Admission is free.
• UWG National Alumni Association presents the 37th Annual Alumni Awards Gala on Saturday, April 20, at 6:00 p.m. at the Townsend Center for the Performing Arts.
