Announcements:
• As they prepare for careers in business, university students face a changing landscape where focus is shifting from current and recent earnings reports to long-term profitability. Looking farther into the future, companies seek leaders who understand sustained financial stability balanced with environmental and social responsibility.
To help train those future leaders, Southwire Company and the University of West Georgia's Richards College of Business unveiled today the Southwire Sustainable Business Honors Program. Funded by a $1.1 million gift from Southwire, the program will allow students to complete undergraduate business studies and earn MBA degrees in four years.

• The fourth presidential candidate, Dr. William Berry, visited UWG on Thursday, Feb. 28, for open meetings with faculty, staff and students. For further information on each candidate, visit the UWG Presidential Search website.
• We will begin transitioning the entire campus to Google mail beginning in April. To facilitate this transition, we have started the Google account creation process, tying our university email addresses to our future Google mail home. The account creation process will be ongoing through March 8. As a result, any faculty or staff member who has associated a personal Google account with a “westga.edu” email address may receive a notice similar to the one below when you sign in to your Google account:
“Your account has changed; this account has an alternate email address (e.g. jdoe@westga.edu). This address is no longer available because an organization has reserved this ‘westga.edu’ email address. You are now signed in with your primary address. Except for the removal of the alternate address, nothing has changed.”
If you receive a different message than the one above or experience any issues as a result of this change, please contact the ITS Service Desk at 678-839-6587.
Check the Daily Report for further announcements regarding the Google transition.
• For those of you who are interested, the Black Heritage stamp, Rosa Park and Global stamp ($1.10), is available for sale at Mail Services. Both are forever stamps; however, this is the first release of an international forever stamp.
Events:
• Transfer Preview Day is today, March 1, 2013. The event begins at 9 am and lasts until 3:00pm. For more information check out this website.
