Announcements:
• For eligible employees planning to participate in the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) for Summer Semester 2013, please note the TAP application deadline is April 15, 2012. The TAP form can be printed from the Human Resources website and is also available in the Human Resources Office (Room 301, Aycock Hall). Please make sure your form is completely and accurately filled out to avoid any problems (please list your student ID number of the institution you plan to attend). It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure the TAP form is received in the Human Resources Office by the deadline.
TAP participants will register for approved courses online via their BanWeb account. TAP participants may register for approved courses online in BanWeb beginning on May 1, 2013. It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure they register for the courses they have been approved for under TAP. The UWG Registrar’s Office can assist participants with any problems encountered with registration.
Please remember that TAP participants must go through the regular student admissions process, if not already admitted. The Undergraduate Admissions Office and the appropriate Graduate Admissions areas have application and document deadline dates for each semester. Please contact the applicable office for their deadlines and requirements. You may access the Tuition Assistance Policy. Participants should familiarize themselves with the TAP policy.

• UWG is transitioning its email and personal calendar services over to Google Apps beginning in April for faculty and staff. These town hall meetings will give a brief overview of the transition to Google, outline what you can expect during the transition, and allow for an open question and answer time. You can learn more about our transition by visiting here.

Events:
• The Center for Diversity and Inclusion (CDI) and the Anthropology Department at the University of West Georgia are pleased to announce the fourth annual Multicultural Festival, today, from 12 - 5 pm in the Campus Center Ballroom. The Multicultural Festival is one of CDI’s signature programs and is designed to provide knowledge of other cultures and build partnerships with various external multicultural communities. The Festival will consist of cultural displays, entertainment, and food. Performances and other activities will include music from the Andes (Peru) by the Apu Inka musical group, African Drumming by The Africa Rhythm Project, Chinese Bamboo Flute instrument, Liberian traditional dances, Native American dances, Calligraphy workshop, African American, Native American and Asian arts, and opportunities for Henna tattoos by Elegant Henna.
Additionally, there will be speakers from various Consulate-General Offices in Atlanta. For additional information, please call the Center for Diversity and Inclusion at 678-839-5400. You may also visit our website. The program is free and open to the public.
• The UWG Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Josh Byrd, performs on tonight, at 8:15pm in the Townsend Center. Please join us for an evening of wonderful performances. Admission is free.
• UWG Young Alums, if you have graduated from UWG in the last 10 years and live in the Carroll County area, join us for UWG Young Alumni Networking After Hours! Thursday, March 28, from 5:30 – 7:30 pm at LocoMex Downtown on the Square. Come network and enjoy free food with other UWG young alums. Cash bar will be open featuring UWG themed drinks. RSVP by March 26.
• Come join in the fun and celebrate Dr. Sethna's retirement with faculty, staff and students. Sethna's Spring Festival will be Thursday, April 11, at 11 am, in the Coliseum. See the flier for more information.
