Administrative:
• The Board of Regents has published revisions to the Business Procedures
Manual which impact use of Student Activity Fees for prizes, awards, and
promotional items. The changes are effective January 1, 2013 and include:
* Dollar limit for individual prizes is not to exceed $100 in value.
* Dollar limit for individual awards is not to exceed $500.
Performance based awards are acceptable if student has provided service or
function to receive award (e.g., writing contests, dance contests, step-show
contests, science fairs, and other various events) in a juried or judged
competition.
* Dollar limit for individual promotional items is not to exceed $50
(e.g., T-shirts, mugs, plaques, click drives, etc).
Announcements:
• Board of Regents Chair "Dink" NeSmith and University System of Georgia Chancellor Hank Huckaby have announced the name of the finalist for the University of West Georgia presidency, Dr. Kyle Marrero.
Marrero is currently vice president for University Advancement at the University of West Florida, Pensacola, a position he has held since August 2009. In this position, Marrero provides executive leadership to advance the mission of the university in the areas of alumni relations, development, marketing, communications and the University of West Florida Foundation.

• Four of the five finalists in the 2013 AJC Peachtree Road Race T-shirt Design Contest are from the University of West Georgia. The public is asked to vote for their favorite design starting today, March 15, and ending at 11:59 pm on April 30. Each person can vote once per day until April 30. The winner will be announced when the first runner crosses the finish line and receives their official t-shirt on July 4.
This is the fifth consecutive year that UWG students have been selected for the contest. As in previous years, the students are in a "professional practices in design" class taught by Clint Samples, an associate professor in art. The four students are Katie Pettus, a senior majoring in photography; Justin Dunbar, a senior majoring in art education; Hannah Sanders, a senior majoring in art education; and Kayla Marston, a junior majoring in graphic design.

• The League of Women Voters of Carrollton - Carroll County is sponsoring a special program on 'Veteran Suicide Prevention'. The program will be tonight, at 6:30 pm, at the Commission Chambers of the David Perry County Administration Building, located at 423 College Street in Carrollton.
