• The League of Women Voters Voter Guide for 2013 is ready. The link to the guide is on the left.
• The annual UWG Faculty Concert will be tonight at 8:15 pm in the Townsend Center for the Performing Arts. The immensely talented members of the music faculty will perform a wide variety of selections, including Grand Duo sur des motifs de Guillaume Tell de G. Rossini with Cale Self on euphonium and Daniel Bakos on piano; Clair de lune with Dawn Neely, soprano and Carol Gingerich on piano;, Vals Venezolano with Harry Nelson on guitar; Chi il bel sogno di Doretta with Julie Lowry, soprano and Wayne Gilreath on piano; Pequena Czarda from The Bleuel Duo with John Bleuel on saxophone and Linda Li-Bleuel on piano; Recital Duo and Josh and Katie Byrd, percussion; and a trio of jazz favorites: Round Midnight, Caravan, All the Things You Are with Daniel Bakos on piano together with members of the UWG Jazz Ensemble. The evening promises to be filled with beautiful music and exciting performances from everyone. Admission is free.
• The African-American Male Initiative (AAMI) Program and the Center for Diversity & Inclusion are happy to announce that Mr. Joseph Barnes, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Achieving Success International, will be on campus Tuesday, October 22, to present "Courage to Take the Lead" Leadership Workshop. Some of the topics addressed will include: a) defining leadership in the 21st Century; b) how to become an effective leader; c) qualities of genuine leadership; and d) leadership techniques and strategies to succeed in college. This presentation will take place in the Campus Center Ballroom 108.2 at 7 pm.
