• October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month. ITS uses this month as an opportunity to engage our campus in discussions about creating a safe cyber environment and maintaining best practice approaches to our day to day lives in the cyber environment. Throughout this month we will be sending important cyber security tips to the daily report to help you stay safe online. Check out our twelfth tip: Tips for Safe Holiday Shopping.
• We are approaching the busiest time of year for communications and want to ensure you receive your mail. Please take a moment to make sure your mailing and email addresses are current in the ADP system. This contact information is used for a variety of announcements, including those related to benefits Open Enrollment, medical cards and W-2 forms. The attached document provides instructions for how to review and update your personal information.

• The UWG chapter of the American Medical Student Association (AMSA) and the College of Science and Mathematics pre-health advising (www.westga.edu/prehealth) are hosting a health professions fair and presentations on October 29, to provide students the opportunity to learn more about careers in health care. This event will feature admissions representatives from health professional programs from Georgia Regents University, Mercer University, Morehouse Medical School, Emory University, South University and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. The fair will be in the lobby of the TLC building from 4-5:30 pm. The presentations will be in the TLC lecture rooms from 5:30-7 pm.
Students and faculty will be able to interact with admission representatives from medical, dental, pharmacy, physician assistant, physical therapy, public health, anesthesiology assistant and more programs.
This program is appropriate for any student considering a health-related career. Both events are free and open to the public.
