• The Murphy Center for Public Service is sponsoring a trip to the Georgia State Capitol on February 13. Students and faculty members from the University of West Georgia will leave campus at 9:30 am and travel to Atlanta to meet with area legislators and observe firsthand the workings of the Georgia General Assembly. The trip is cosponsored by the University of West Georgia Political Science Club.
This trip will give students an opportunity to witness their state legislature in action and learn how state laws are made. Student interns from the University of West Georgia who are working in the capitol will serve as tour guides and talk to the visiting students about their experiences working with state legislators.
Anyone interested in the trip should contact Dr. Stan Caress at the Department of Political Science by February 11. Additional Information is available by calling 679 939-6504 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
