UWG Set for Sizable Spring Commencement

The University of West Georgia will host its spring commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 8 at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the Coliseum. The ceremony’s guest speaker will be former Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin.

Undergraduates from the College of Arts and Sciences and the Richards College of business will receive their degrees in the 9 a.m. ceremony. The 2 p.m. ceremony will include undergraduates from the College of Education and the School of Nursing, as well as students from the Graduate School.

Approximately 752 undergrads and 318 grad students have earned the right to walk across the stage to receive their diplomas. Dr. Beheruz N. Sethna, president of the university, will preside over the event as Master of Ceremonies.
