The University of West Georgia Film Society will present its second annual Student Film Festival on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 6 – 7, in the Campus Center and the Technology-enhanced Learning Center. Admission is free and the community is invited to attend.
The 48 Hour Film Race is an opportunity for students to exercise the art of creating films under a set time period. Students experience the artistic nature of filmmaking and connect with fellow filmmakers as well as gain exposure on campus and in the community.
Approximately 30 students on five teams participated this year to produce short films no longer than five minutes. In addition to showing the short films, several other movies will be shown as well as local music band performances.
Screenings of the short films and winners of the Film Race and music performances will take place on Tuesday beginning at 5 p.m. in the Campus Center Ballroom.
The festival continues on Wednesday with more film screenings and jury and audience prize award announcements in the TLC, Room 1200, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
