Exhibit Showcases Student Art

The University of West Georgia and the Department of Art will host a reception for its Student Juried Exhibition on Friday, April 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. The event is free and the community is invited to attend. The exhibit, which fills three gallery spaces and floors in the Humanities Building, shows off the best of UWG’s art majors and will run through April 22.

George Beasley, founder of the sculpting program and professor emeritus at Georgia State University, will be the guest speaker at the reception. He is internationally renowned for his iron pours and installation art.

Students will also receive recognition and awards for their works at the reception.
